1. What is Analytical Exposition?

An Analytical Exposition text is a text that evaluates a topic critically but focuses on only one side of an argument. Its main purpose is to convince the readers/listeners that the topic being discussed is an important issue that needs attention.

2. Social Function (Tujuan Sosial)

To persuade the audience that the idea/topic presented is an important matter to discuss by providing supporting arguments.

3. Generic Structure (Struktur Teks)

Thesis: Introduces the main topic and shows the writer's position or opinion.
Arguments: Consists of points and elaborations to support the writer's opinion. (Usually more than one argument).
Reiteration / Conclusion: Restates the writer's point of view to strengthen the thesis.

4. Language Features (Unsur Kebahasaan)

Simple Present Tense: Uses verb 1 (e.g., cause, produce, think, is, are).
Thinking / Feeling Verbs: Expressions like I feel, I think, we believe.
Internal Conjunctions: Words used to link arguments (e.g., firstly, secondly, furthermore, moreover).
Causal Conjunctions: Words showing cause and effect (e.g., because, lead to, as a result, therefore).

Why Wearing Masks is Crucial During the Haze in Jambi

Haze pollution caused by land and forest fires has severely impacted air quality in Jambi. As a result, schools are switching to online learning. In these hazardous conditions, wearing protective masks when outdoors is extremely necessary for public health.

First of all, masks filter hazardous fine particles (PM2.5) from entering our respiratory system. Inhaling these tiny pollutants can trigger acute respiratory infections (ISPA), asthma attacks, and severe chest discomfort.

Secondly, wearing masks reduces long-term risks of chronic diseases. Prolonged exposure to heavy smoke without protection can lead to permanent damage to lung tissues.

In conclusion, wearing a mask during haze pollution is essential to protect our health and prevent dangerous respiratory illnesses.
